Yashin Award

The Yashin Award, awarded since 1994 to the best goalkeeper, and named for the Soviet legend, Lev Yashin, the “Black Panther,” or “Black Octopus,” who flung his black-clad frame – all 6 feet 3 inches of it – all around the goalmouth for the Soviets from 1958 to 1970.
